CyoLicence

[download] [support]

introduction

CyoLicence is a software licence management system, providing software protection and licencing to Windows software developers using secure RSA public-key encryption.

CyoLicence was developed by Cyotec Systems originally for internal use. However, upon realising the potential for a low-cost yet powerful software protection system, it was decided to release CyoLicence as a commercial product.

NEW CyoLicence is now free for both personal and commercial use, complete without restriction. See the faq section for instructions.

faq

Who is CyoLicence for?

CyoLicence is for Windows software developers and programmers who wish to protect their own applications using a secure licensing system.

How does it work?

A license is generated and RSA-signed using CyoLicence. This is distributed to the licensee in the form of a licence file, for use in a CyoLicence-protected application.

How are applications protected?

Code is generated (in a choice of languages, see above) for integration into the source code for the user's application. The code also contains the public key for verifying the licence's signature.

Why not provide a generic redistributable DLL for validating licences?

This is inherently insecure in that a DLL can easily be replaced to provide a fake validation DLL. Generating code for user integration allows for the highest levels of control and confidence.

How secure is the RSA algorithm?

RSA encryption is used by almost all secure websites all over the world. (To see for yourself, go to any such website and look for the signature algorithm within the site's certificate.)

How can I activate the free edition of CyoLicence?

Click here to download a free licence file to activate CyoLicence. After installing CyoLicence, copy the licence file into the 'C:\Program Files\Cyotec\CyoLicence\licence' folder.
